How a personalised song is made, step by step
You share a story. Songwriters turn it into lyrics, a melody and a finished vocal, and you get a private gift page with the finished song. Here is exactly what happens in between.

The short version
A personalised song at Ishara moves through eight steps. You tell us the story. We read it and ask if something is missing. Our songwriters write the lyrics. For two of our three gifts, we send the lyrics on WhatsApp for your OK. Then we compose the melody, arrange it, and produce the vocals. We mix the song and check it carefully. We deliver it on a private gift page. And if you want changes, we revise.
The whole thing takes between 24 hours and 5 days, depending on the gift you choose. Ordering takes about 5 minutes. Here is each step in detail.
Step by step: from your story to your song
The process is the same for every song, whether it is a ₹399 Note or a ₹999 Studio song. What changes is the extras, the number of revisions and, for Studio, the speed.
- Step 1, your story: you fill in the order form or send voice notes on WhatsApp. Voice notes are often easier, because you talk the way you think.
- Step 2, we read and ask: a songwriter reads everything. If a name, a date or an important detail is missing, we ask you before writing, not after.
- Step 3, lyrics are written: the songwriter picks the strongest details and builds verses and a chorus, in the language you chose.
- Step 4, your OK on the lyrics: with The Serenade and the Studio song, we send the lyrics on WhatsApp for your OK before we produce the song.
- Step 5, melody, arrangement and vocals: we compose the tune, arrange the music and produce the vocals.
- Step 6, mixing and checking: we mix the song so it sounds clean on a phone speaker and in headphones. We check that every name is pronounced correctly and that every verse carries a detail from your story.
- Step 7, delivery: you receive a private gift page with a player, an MP3 download and the lyrics. The link comes on WhatsApp and email.
- Step 8, revisions: if something is off, tell us. Every gift includes free revisions.
How to write a story that makes a great song
The story you send is the most important ingredient. A song is only about three minutes long, so it cannot hold everything. What it can hold is a handful of vivid, true details. The more specific you are, the more the song feels like it was written by someone who knows the person.
You do not need to write well. You need to remember well. Think of the five or six moments that sum the person up, and tell us each one as you would tell a friend.
- Use names and nicknames: what you call them and what they call you.
- Give one scene, not a summary. "The night it rained and we shared one umbrella" beats "we had many good times".
- Add sensory details: a smell, a sound, a taste, a place.
- Include something only the two of you would know, like an inside joke or a phrase.
- Tell us the feeling you want: emotional, playful, filmy, or soft and quiet.
- Tell us the language, and how they speak. Hinglish is common in India, but a Punjabi or Tamil verse can make a song feel closer.
- Say what to leave out. If something is sensitive, we will not use it.
What you get with each gift
The Note at ₹399 gives you one original song in 5 days, as a studio-quality MP3 on a private gift page with the lyrics, with one revision. The Serenade at ₹799 adds your OK on the lyrics on WhatsApp before we produce the song, a print-ready lyric sheet with a QR code that plays the song, and three revisions, in 3 days.
The Studio song at ₹999 has everything in The Serenade, plus a lyric video, with the words on screen as the song plays, ready to post on a story or status, and a music video cut from your own photos, edited to the song and synced to the lyrics. You send 10 to 20 photos on WhatsApp after ordering, and it is delivered within 24 hours, with five revisions. For bigger moments like a sangeet or a corporate event, enquire on WhatsApp.
Revisions, privacy and the guarantee
Revisions are part of the price. If a line does not sound right, a name is misspelt or the mood is off, tell us. Our promise is simple: we keep revising until it is right. If we ever miss the delivery time we promised, your song is free, with a full refund.
Your story stays private. Only our songwriters see it, and the gift page link goes only to you. Share it when you are ready. Payment is by UPI, through GPay, PhonePe, Paytm or any UPI app, and you do not need an account.
